[PLUGIN] MPD OLED - installation & configuration plugin

Have you a previous install? Did you reboot?
Or I need to check…

Nope, no MDP_OLED was installed as his rPi uses your FusionDSP.
The CAVA folder was created during the install:

???oh Did I mixed my zip…

[edit]
removal seems to got stuck. removed plugin again. This time success full
Ran the installer again. This time succes full

No clue what happened, maybe a partial leftover from a previous version.
As MPD_OLED was removed as I use FusionDSP on this rPi.
The installer ran without issues the first time, after removal of this version, I couldn’t get it installed.
error message:

I haven’t tried the plugin, but if it is a reliable solution to the audio copy on Volumio then that is great. Well done to @balbuze, @timothyjward and anyone else involved!

Is there a Volumio plugin (or one planned) that simply sets up a FIFO (or FIFOs), which any visualiser could then use?

I would use this for testing mpd_oled changes on Volumio, but it would also be useful for people who wanted to run a customised version of mpd_oled, especially if this had different command line options to the version used in the plugin.

Adrian.

[For reference, nice documentation for volumiofifo: https://github.com/volumio/volumio-alsa-fifo/ ]

Thanks Balbuze! I’ll get on this and test it out on my system!

There is still some things to fix:
Mod oled must be enabled at startup (set to true instead of false in onstart function).
On my system, it needs to to be started by pressing ‘save’ innth plugin. If not, an arbitrary hournis displayed and it is not triggered by play.

Hi @balbuze

weird, it does start on my system, I don’t have to enable by pressing Save in the plugin settings

I use it on a Rpi3. I suspect the speed to be in cause, but maybe it is not that…

Same here, Only had some strange issues during install, but it does start on all three systems automatically. (rPi-4, rev 1.4) Even in combination with Peppy_meter.

I am testing it on a RPi0-2

installed the latest zip and works fine right away.

thanks.
