Hi all! Has anyone tried such a board - Raspberry Pi DAC R38h on ES9038Q2M from Ustars (Aliexpess)? Bought, turned on (under Volumio) - does not work.
I specifically asked the seller beforehand if it would work on Rasp 2B - he said it would. Does not work. When power is applied to the DAC connector, the Raspberry connected to it turns on, loads, everything is normal. The DAC board does not give external signs of life, the LEDs on it do not glow (maybe they should not). The supply voltage is 4.9 V from a linear source, according to the oscilloscope without drawdowns. There is power on all DAC control points. It feels like the operating room, which is closest to the connectors, is very hot.
Choosing none of the recommended I2S DACs (Generic, HiFiBerry, Audiophonics 9028) does not give results. When you try to play something, a red sign with the ALSA error pops up. Updating the software to the latest version (previously used 2.9*) did not give results.
Colleagues, where to dig? Or do I still need 3 Raspberries?

Use the ApplePI dac on the configuration. It works with all ES90xx dacs i tried with. Of course your connections need to be correct:)
