On Volumio 4 (beta), I am quite happy!

I got installed Volumio 4 on and old PC, Core 2 Duo processor, only 2GB RAM, Nvidia video card, connected to a Maverick Tubemagic D2 DAC and also got the configuration for HDMI to my Marantz AVR to function by help on forum. Both sounds good!

Every things function, also Spotify and Youtube (even casting), though no video, guess I need touch screen plugin for that?

I will get the computer more RAM memory and add a PCIe usb card later, but for sure do not need to shop for expensive streamer, can’t belief it will sound any better!

Lets play some Pink Floyd! :grinning:

Hi @Klasw
Video is not possible. Volumio is an audio system only.

Simon

Thats sad.

It’s not sad, video capability simply falls outside the scope of most audio streamers by design. The architecture of nearly all dedicated streamers excludes video handling entirely, with rare exceptions like the HiFi Rose RS150B, RS520, and RS250A, which integrate 4K HDMI output alongside high-fidelity audio circuitry

Well, I think you compare apple wit orange, or what do you mean by most audio streamers, that is a quit broder concept, some are build on specific hardware. Volumio is only for Pi or PC, for download. Volumio have Chromioum webbrowser, on gui for it, so you need a hdmi or VGA screen.

You can do Ctrl+T to open new tab and go to for an example music.youtube.com, so if you can do that, why not video on the plugin? Or why not a webbrowser plugin, that would be an easy plugin to develop, might even do it my self.

Please do, interesting topic.

I had that link, thanks any way.
