No sound output from SPDIF > USB adapter on Volumio X86 (latest)

Volumio X86 v3.832
Intel NUC D34010WYK
Khadas Tone2 DAC

I’ve bought a SPDIF to USB adapter so that I can connect my TV / Chromecast Audio, but i get no sound output. The device IS recognised…but i don’t get any sound out of it when my TV is connected (and optical output is selected). before i go and find another source with optical output and buy some new optical cables, is there anything simple that I’m missing to get this thing to work properly? I am a volumio subscriber and ‘digital inputs’ is enabled.

The Khadas DAC has a coax input; could it be that volumio is getting confused? it’s not able to provide functionality for the SPDIF / USB source as it’s expecting input from the coax on the DAC ?

So…new cables and a new input source…and it works fine; kindly ignore me.

In my opinion The Cubilux adapter is for recording, not for playing audio through Volumio and Volumio currently does not support SPDIF input > USB input > audio playback through its UI.

I have the same Cubilex device and it works perfectly: am using it NOW to play the sound from TV: TV → spdif → Volumio → Hifiberry DAC2 Pro → tube amplifier
