Again, no sound from Volumio Primo (I believe it is 3). Artwork shows, slider advances, no sound. What to do?

It happens sometimes, usually after rebooting NAS (it goes off overnight), and then several volumio reboots might help it. Today, I can not even say how many times I rebooted it, even upgraded, nothing seemed to work. I found someone else’s old thread on this same topic with few suggestions. So I set the buffer to 12 and Mixer Type to “Software”. After reboot it started working again.
My suspicion is that there is something that does not start/initialize properly at the boot time. When everything is fine it will play a short sound after reboot, saying it’s ready. When not, it is completely silent.
Would you have any suggestions what to do when it happens again? I am sure it will.
I did change the output device, did not seem to help.
