No option to turn off Bluethooth on Volumio 4?

[Wilson_Cheng]

Everytime I use my Android tablet to connect my Pi4 running Volumio, it ask me do I want to connect with Bluetooth.
Is there way I can disable the Bluetooth on Volumio?

Hi, search for Nerd’s Flight Mode plugin in Plugins section.

Thanks!

I saw that and I was under impression it will turn off both wifi and Bluetooth together, like phone airplane mode.

@nerd

Let me give you the actual state of things.

The Bluetooth toggle in Volumio governs the Bluetooth audio plugin, not the radio itself. Think of it as closing the app rather than switching on flight mode. The controller can remain powered, and if the host stack is still up, a phone can still see it and can still complete a pairing exchange.

And I was under the impression that Bluetooth stays off when it’s disabled in settings (I have that yellow warning from the Android app too), so now I’m going to install this plugin as well.

Official documentation — not always concise, sometimes outdated — is arguably this project’s weakest point; you’ll often have to dig through the forums to find what you need. On the other hand, a vibrant and inventive community is its strongest point.

Without that, this would be a very different experience. So a shout-out to all community contributors and Plugin Wizards — we you!
