have a RP4 and every time when i get update , i must reste default to install update WHY ???
im just adjust display resolution for 7"display under boot/userconfig.txt
may be he want install becouse pappymeter ???
please for help

if you have peppy meter installed turn off peppy meter and check again.

Peppy is an unofficial plugin, that touch some files. If the check before running an Volumio update fails, is this because files have changed. When this happens Volumio doesn’t know the state of you OS and update will be blocked, as it might break the system.
