any word on a new upgraded Rivo with i2s in the works?

What would be your benefit in having i2s? Would there be something else that you would add to Rivo?

the same upgrade power circuit found in the Motivo. i have a DAC with i2s, i am hoping that the next generation of the Rivo will provide this option? some say that i2s affords the best sound quality. according to Hans Brinkhausen in his review of the Motivo it sounded best with the included SMPS PSU? with the current Rivo one must spend another $500 to bring it close to his reference streamer the Magna Hifi Ultra. so all in the Rivo in reality will cost $1700 in its current state! a upgrade even costing a bit more but with a better PSU would be a bargain.
I’m also running a Topping DAC with an I2S input and using the I2S HDMI output from a Mercury V2 streamer from Pi2 Design. Because there is no standard for the HDMI I2S output my V2 needed a small adaptation to work properly. I’m very pleased with the sound and find it a little better than the former USB connection. This is in contradiction with measurements of Amir of Audio Science Review who could not measure any difference between the I2S and the USB input.
it seem odd that Volumio would release a purist product like the Rivo and not include i2s? yet they included it on their all in one Motivo?
Some Dacs prefer i2s interface and the sound is better. The Rivo would be perfect if it had this option that allows you to do the tests.
