I’ve just installed the latest version of Volumio on a Raspberry Pi 2. I can log on to the web page but that’s where the problems start. If I select my music library I get a list of all the music available and I can select a track which will play. If I go to ‘queue’ I get a rotating wheel and can’t do anything until it stops, about 20 seconds, at which point it defaults to the first track in my list, which masy not be the track that’s playing. This is repeated everytime I select ‘queue’ which means that I can’t select anything from the ‘queue’ except by the forward and reverse buttons. This is ok, I suppose, if I only had 10 tracks in my library, but, like most people, I have several thousand. Also I can’t see any of my Spotify playlists. The issue with the ‘queue’ selection effectively makes Volumio useless so I’m assuming I’ve done something wrong. This is on two Pis and two micro sdcards and two power supplies, both of greater than 2 amps capacity, and everything else I run on both Pis, including Rune Audio, works as it should. Any suggestions?
Is it because you are sending your entire music library to the queue that you are getting the long delay?? I can’t reproduce the first track being the default … I can select any from the queue and it plays.
The problem with ‘My Playlists’ on Spotify is being investigated (Spotify have changed the API), and you can see the progress here.
Hi chsims1, thanks for your reply, it’s much appreciated. I’ve tried with a much smaller ‘library’ of 88 tracks and the problem is the same. The library loads into the queue and the play window shows the first track in the queue. So far, so good. As an example I want to play my library in a random fashion so I select random, then select track 5 using the forward button and I get the rortating wheel again for about 20 seconds then it shows the first track in the queue before immediately showing the rotating wheel again for about 20 seconds then it shows the first track, again. The track I selected isn’t played.
In order to try and get it to work a different way I select the queue button, it shows the queue for about a second and then it’s the rotating wheel again then back to the play window with the first track in the library showing again. I didn’t get the chance to select a track from the queue.
Another method: I start by selecting the first track to play, which it does. I select another track using the forward button and a different random track plays. Good oh, progress?? Not really, I get the rotarting wheel twice before it shows the first track in the library yet again. Half way through the random track it stops with the rotating wheel twice and back to the first track in the list.
Regrettably, for me, Volumio is unusable in its current incarnation. Maybe I’ll try again sometime, but maybe not.
