My wish list for Volumio

Most of the boards (x86) i use come with eMMC and storage…i.e. m.2 nvme or regular sata.

I wish that when I’m using eMMC, i can see the other drives as storage and put large collections on them, while still maintaining the eMMC as the OS storage.

This way i can take advantage of the features on the boards.

On a side note, in previous version i would be able to build a database of music from a NAS and click the 3 dots and click play and it would load up everything into queue and start to play. Now i have to go to each folder and add to queue.

Disk SATA or NVME - format the drive ext4 file format, name it “issd”
Then the drive will be visible in Volumio.

On Linux systems – Ubuntu, Debian, etc. – use Gparted.
On Linux systems, you can directly copy music files to such an EXT4 formatted drive.

Use the program for formatting disks to EXT4 partitions in Windows 10 / 11 and for copying to such a disk in Windows 10 / 11

SATA drive connected via USB to SATA adapter.

Settings - Sources - My Music - Update

Music Library - USB

Thank you… I’m going to need more directions. Is there somewhere that has instructions on this?

Thanks so much… i got as far as loading volumio on board via SD. Formatting a miniPCIe druve to EXT4… naming the drive. I just have no way of transfering music to it from windows 11.

I think i got it… using disk genius. Copying files to test now

It should be OK.

Yup. Did all that. Just trying to get the system to see the other drives music

Everything worked. Thanks for your help
