My userconfig.txt file

Hello you all!

I’ve been doing some changes in the userconfig.txt file and I want to share it with you.
First of all, there are some changes so my HDMI screen can work properly.

Then, I’ve added a few lines that I want you - the experts - to review. Main purpose of this is turning off everything I don’t need.

Please fell free to share your thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

Here’s my usercogif.txt file:

Add your custom config.txt options to this file, which will be preserved duri$

#Configuraci n de la pantalla HDMI

dtparam=i2c_arm=off
dtparam=spi=off
dtoverlay=w1-gpio,gpiopin=4
dtparam=audio=off
hdmi_ignore_edid_audio=1
disable_splash=1

Any thoughts? :slight_smile:

These lines can be deleted IMHO and probably also

since “spi” is disabled by default (IIRC).

Regarding the other entries: Without knowing your hardware, no one can judge which entries are necessary in your “/boot/userconfig.txt”.

But in general terms: I would think that you added the entries to achieve a certain effect and if this effect has not materialized, the entries can probably be removed again. :wink:

I love this statement! It could so easily be applied to much of the audiophile world – $5000 1-meter speaker wires, anyone? Or maybe you’d like to paint the edges of your CD’s? Examples abound…

Hello!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The reason I set it up this way was to minimize any chance of EMI getting into the Pi through the GPIO pins, and also to reduce CPU usage. Sometimes, you just have to experiment and see what works.

Just a Rpi with a Waveshare HDMI screen and an USB audio out to my DAC.

This is absolutely true. But sometimes some of this things just… works.

Honestly, I’m a cable guy… I know some companies with ultra expensive cables may lie… but a cable can be a game changer in a HIFI system.
