MPD Miniscribble only works for local music (not Tidal)

I installed mpd-miniscribbler on my Volumio 4 system (on a Raspberry Pi 3). The scrobbling works just fine when I play music from my local library (stored on a NAS), but no scrobbling occurs when I listen to music on Tidal from within Volumio.

I know that there’s a last.fm plugin that probably works fine; I’m using miniscribbler because it allows me to Scrobble to Listenbrainz, which I can’t with the Last.fm plugin.

I’m thinking that there’s something about the way Tidal plays output through mpd that causes the miniscribbler to not work, but I don’t know enough to say for sure. Is anyone familiar enough with that system to confirm or disconfirm that I’m just out of luck trying to Scrobble Tidal plays this way?

I don’t know the answer to your question, I’m afraid, but I do know that if you’re scrobbling to Last.fm too, you can get Listenbrainz to automatically collect scrobbles from your Last.fm account, if that helps.
