I am trying to match the Rivo+ to the Pontus 15th, but I am kind of stumped.
Rivo has a lot of options for setting a brand. I put that on Denafrips.
The Pontus 15th has 8 different pin out modes. At first I left it on default (0-0-0 lights off) I did get sound, but my right and left channel were swapped. I looked at the diagram in the manual and settled on the one where all values are opposite (1-1-1 lights on) Now the channels are correct, but I am clueless about the other values to do with clocking. I do sometimes get a glitch where I hear a high pitched sound, but that seems to be happening in different pin out settings.
I don’t have any DSD files so I don’t know wether that is correctly implemented now.
I’ll add the diagrams from the denafrips manual and the setting instruction to my post. Could someone advise me what setting to use (1 to 8) with the Rivo+ set to Denafrips.
@Darmur Thanks for that info. I have been exclusively using my LAIV DAC with the Rivo +, but I have a Pontus, and was intending on trying it out, so this will prove helpful.
It’s not a huge change, but it’s audible. There’s a wider soundstage, dynamics, and detail.
For DSD, you need to change the polarity:
DSD left and right channel switching
Press the MUTE button to enter configuration mode.
Switch the NOS button momentarily (within 2 seconds) for DSD left and right channel swapping.
