Loosing browser connection to Volumio (mini86)

I am using Volumio on a Mini86 with an Android Tablet as remote control. The Tablet looses connection quite regularly.
My mini86 receives a permanent IP address 192.168.2.2 from a DHCP server, which I use to access it in the browser and the app.

When I use the Android app, after a while of working properly, it shows me a page with the message “Device not found”. It recovers when I tap on the “search” button below.
When I access volumio using the chrome browser, it also looses connection frequently, showing the animated circles until I refresh the browser.

I can always recover using the search or refresh button, but it’s a bit annoying. So if there is any known procedure to make the browser connection more stable, I would appreciate any advice.

It sounds like a network problem, but diagnosing a specific problem is very difficult. I would first checkout network reception, and go from there.

I use the rpi3 version of Volumio. The android app always device not found and i need to do the same as op. No such prob with chrome browser on my laptop though.

Thanks for the answers which led me in the right direction.

I agree with bigbear that this issue does not show up with a laptop and chrome browser with either lan or wlan.

On my Android tablet however the chrome browser does show this behaviour. In the end I think I found a workaround:

Initially my tablet was connected to my home wlan. Now I set up Volumio in a different way. The mini86 is still connected to my home network via lan to connect to my nas. But I set up Volumio to establish a wlan access point in addition. When I connect my tablet to this Volumio access point instead of my home wlan, the App stays properly connected to Volumio even if the tablet goes to standby.

Of course, this way the tablet is without Internet. That is ok for the moment as I use the tablet exlusively as a remote control for Volumio.
