After working a long time on Katana SQ , we finally were able to solve the “fatiguing sound” that was present on some systems (bookshelves)
Meanwhile after solving the filter , we also took hundreds of readings on analog stage and further we decrease the noise on analog stage using more caps.
This week we will finalize the changes and gearing up for changes in manufacturing stage.
I want to say a big thx to Michelangelo and all of our customers for sticking with us and being patient. All customers will receive a free isolator (new generation)
BTW…an independant testing of Katana was released. Katana 1.2 has further increased the THD+N to -113 A weighted or -111 unweighted.
I’m glad to hear that. I 'm having a Katana V1.1 that order from Volumio shop. And, I still get an new Isolator for free and a new Katana V1.2? Ofcause, I will send back your Katana V.1.1.

I had contacted allo customer service whether Im elligible with the free Isolator 2 upon the receipt of Katana 1.2. She said that it is only for those who already paid but not yet delivered/received the unit.
In my case I already received it. Im entitled for the the new Isolator 2 if I pay the return of My Katana 1.1;Also if I do not reimburse it they will ship me this free Isolator 2, this is according to the customer service from Allo India!
Its not the customer fault! Allo should shoulder the cost of recall! This should be charged to cost of poor quality!
Allo commercialized a Beta Product in the market! This is embarassing…I thought having an isolator would appease the customers who expected allot from Katana 1.0.
How inconvinient is to return a product that was initially thaught to be an A grade and all of a sudden Allo will declare that they have to improve it. Imagine the cost of going to the courier (time and petrol) , sending it back to india! Ow, according to the customer service person that if I dont refund the money I use to send back Katana 1.0, I will be entitled of the Isolator!! Shame! Shame!
Allo sent its first customers a prototype!! This is how you compensate those of whom you caused an issue
You took a punt, it didn’t work out. I’d suggest a little patience, and perhaps some private communication with Allo, will garner a better outcome. Allo will get the Katana right, and will also look after their customers and supporters.
That is an ire of unhappy customer! It is so unfair for a customer whom they want to recall a product. Imagine going to a courier at 52deg C in Saudi Arabia. Can you imagine how inconvinient it is to send that? Who will be happy with that!? I own Usbridge and Digione and I never have any hassle on these products!
Then you are not entitled of an isolator 2.0. You give them a favor of returning the product! They want to give these isolators to those who ordered but not delivered yet only. How unfair! I paid for sending Katana to my location with an intention of getting a product that I expect and dream at $200+… it should be allo’s compensation for those whom they cause inconvinience such as this! 52 deg C my friend; you sweat like bullet outside. I have to travel 100 km to collect this to courier and return back on the same point just to return it; and im not entitled to get an isolator 2.0.
Guys please calm down, maybe Allo will post here or maybe Michelangelo can try and help?

Michael angelo is on vacation. Actually I raised a concern on my Katana 1.0 about smurf sound of songs at the start of playbacl right after boot… i followed certao recommendations such as spraying contact cleaner… however I almosy spray halfnof my CRC spray… smurf still existed…
Allo Katana is a flagship and the most expensive… to some $200 is small, to me it is significant… You cannot dictate me what I should react… Im not a reviewer of Allo product.s
You are posting on all forums the same thing and we keep replying to you using customer service , diyaudio and here.
I understand your frustration, and I also understand the fact that it makes no sense to ship it back. So keep it.
You are free to express your point of view and we clearly understand. You have a “smurf sound” and we explained that sometimes there is a problem with RPI connectors that are independent of Katana. Nothing for us we can do.
Furthermore , we will replace your Katana with the new version and with free isolator.
I understand some of you might have different reactions to the Katana saga. But as always, customer happiness is the first goal of both us and Allo.
I shall remark another time that Allo is doing a great job in supporting customers, so I suggest to be always as polite and calm as possible to help them help you out guys.
In any case, our customer support is also there to help you (so you in fact have 2 teams helping you).
Allo will send us an updated Katana and I will update the review accordingly, for you to have the most clear idea of how is the Katana 2nd revision

I had a Katana DAC which got problem with ±15V regulator so it can not sound. Lucky, I used external ±15V and fix it. Many promisses from you. So, I want to get a refund as last Allo support email. But I still can not get any information about it. No email repply to me even two weeks. This Katana DAC I ordered from Volumio Shop. So now, who will support me about this issue.

As for update, Katana 1.2 will ship next week. Right now , we are doing all modifications on boards. As always all preorders will get the isolator and an extra goodie. If you ordered Katana 1 you will get an email this week with an explanation on what we will ship…
