Just to vent - Volumio Rivo bad purchase

I bought last year a Volumio Rivo transport. I cannot comprehend how they can sell it. The volumio software is superbuggy. You have to reboot the machine almost every day. Tidal connection is lost periodically for no reason. Re-scanning the external drive/card is almost impossible. It never happen when you want it, but only after a fresh reboot. I tried wireless and wired connection. I reached out a few times customer support, then I understood that I throw away $1,000. When it works is good, but never works. Sorry to say that I bought an Eversolo DMP-6, that I use as a transport in my system, to replace the Rivo and it works flawlessly.

I’m sorry. What you describe is not the experience we build the Rivo for, and I won’t dismiss your frustration.

A few of these symptoms tend to have specific causes. For example, the TIDAL issue you report was recently discovered and fixed. We’re rolling out that fix with the upcoming Volumio 4, which will resolve many others too.

I also want to know where support let you down. Our technicians do their best, but cases like yours are genuinely hard to diagnose because the root cause is often a network condition that is invisible from the outside. That doesn’t excuse leaving you stuck, and it tells me we still have room to improve.

For transparency, I can only find one similar report in our support records, which dates back to November 2025. In that case, I provided detailed troubleshooting steps and requested additional information, but I did not receive any further feedback from the customer, so I was unable to determine the root cause or confirm the outcome.

That said, I take reports like yours seriously. The behavior you describe is certainly not what we expect from Rivo, and if there are scenarios where users experience instability or library scanning issues, we want to understand and address them.
