Thanks your prompt reply. The thing is before writing in the forum I did reinstall the app (it was already an updated version) and it still did not work. After receiving your reply I reinstalled it again and it started working right away! So something strange happened in the meantime but it does not matter as it works just fine now!
I’m facing the same issue. Just installed v3.779 on Raspberry and the Volumio app on iPhone 14 Pro Max (iOS 17.3.1).
At first, I turned on the rpi with Volumio OS and launched the app, and the app could connect to the rpi, and the first setup process started, but at the step of connecting to WiFi it stuck, after a dozen of minutes I gave up and accessed the rpi by it’s IP (nmap-ed and gussed from the list). I could configure Volumio OS through the web interface, among other things I’ve assigned it a static IP (192.168.0.81). By the way, my local net is 192.168.0.0/24 with a 192.168.0.1 gateway and 192.168.0.101-192.168.0.199 DHCP range. So now rpi is accessible by either volumio.local and the IP (from any device in local network, including my phone). I can even ssh into it. But when I open the Volumio app, that “Looking for devices” is there forever, and nothing happens. I have no “Local network” permission present in the settings (I mean, there is no such switch at all). And never had the app asked for that permission.
I’m a dev myself, have a Mac and can help you debug this issue if you point me what to do and what logs to check. The product itself is great, and even controlling the player through browser is more or less OK, but seriously, please, let’s fix that 2-year-old bug.
Upd.: I’ve reinstalled the app several times, cleared it’s data with all means allowed by iOS, with no success. It’s definitely not that simple as “check the power plug”.
Volumio App on my iPad as well on my Android phone can’t find any devices. I have tried to reinstall the App on both iPad and phone. But still the same issue!?
So the first 3 groups of numbers are identical for both networks (WiFi and Ethernet), only the last 3 are different?
like:
Ethernet: 100.100.100.1
Wifi: 100.100.100.2
Volumio operates in the same network segment/subnet (mask: 255.255.255.0).
You’re connection problem is caused because your WiFi runs on a different subnet than Ethernet.
In your router you can set the IP-range for WiFi, it should also run on 192.168.1.xxx
For so long I’m struggling with volumio app on iPhone 14 that cannot find any volumio device. While in the same network my ipad and lenovo tab works correctly.
I cannot recall where i read it but someone gave a hint that i would like to share with people struggling with the same issue on iOS.
Open Safari, go to the IP address of your volumio and then save it in the home screen. It creates an icon and it is like the app connecting directly to your volumio.
And it is much better and faster than the app itself.
