Introducing Nova: a new UI built with you

In the plugins section it has a handy indicator that there are updates available. However, despite multiple, apparently successful attempts to update FusionDSP, it continues to offer this update. Also after a power restart. Maybe connected to the issue that @nerd was referring to?

This seems to happen with a plugin with a new beta version (the case for Fusiondsp).
Switch to Manifest UI if you want to try it.

Thanks. Back in Manifest it failed to update to v.3.1.3 (beta), with the error you already have this plugin (it said I was still on 3.1.2 though) - maybe because I tried updating so often in Nova. Plugin uninstall, restart, install worked fine.

I’m sticking with Nova though, because I do really like it!

The reason you can’t update is not hĆ© UI, but volumio. A beta plugin can’t update over an already installed one. @volumio why?
The way is to remove the previous version, reboot and install the beta from manifest UI.

I can’t use Nova…
Very often, when I click a function (e.g., Search), ā€œLoadingā€¦ā€ appears first, followed later by ā€œThe webpage is unreachableā€¦ā€
This also affects the /dev page, making it difficult to capture a log at that specific moment—though it did eventually work.
After a few minutes, it comes back online, as if the system had been restarted.
This keeps happening repeatedly.
Manifest works perfectly—fast and without interruption, including /dev.

It’s running on an RPI3B+.

I also reflashed, updated to version 204 again, rebooted… but the problem persists.

I just upgraded my Rivo to beta 4.208 but the Nova interface is nowhere to be found. Am I missing something here?

Products will receive Nova later, we are planning that and will tell you the ETA and updates soon.

We did not spot anything in the logs… Did you send after the crash occurs? If not, please send them right after the crash.

Quick update, Nova just made the jump from DIY to our own hardware!

Starting today : Motivo, Integro, and Primo Plus can update and find Nova waiting for them.

You have to enable TEST MODE, and update to version 4.209.

Next Monday (Sept. 28th) : Rivo, Rivo Plus, and Primo 2 are up (assuming no blocking issues come up during rollout).

Same steps as before you can find above: update to the latest TEST version and switch theme. You can always go back if you want.

I generated a log immediately after the crash.
In this instance, it took about a minute for the interface to become available again. It also just went offline briefly (for about a minute), even though I hadn’t done anything. (log2)
It affects the dev page as well.
On other occasions, it sometimes took significantly longer.

However, the music continues playing normally. It is not a reboot of the entire system.

Happened again at approx. 19:20

And X86, please?

Hi,

Some thoughts about navigation.

When I search for an artist and albums appear and I select one of them:

I correctly go to the album selected:

But when I press the back arrow I expect to go to the previous screen I was but it goes to the generic ā€œyour libraryā€ menu:

Another aspect which would be a good update is, when we are playing something, the time bar appears at the bottom, but one cannot advance on track on it, it always goes to the full playing album:

Nontheless, would it be possible to add a ā€œback buttonā€ to return to previous screen?

Thank you. BR,
Paulo Nunes

PS - I have just tried the back button of the browser itself and it really goes to the last menu…

Guys, thanks for all the precious feedback! :raised_hands:

Keep it coming, we’re taking note of every suggestion and bug.

We released a new Nova update v0.260918.0 yesterday and we’re already working on a new version. You should receive updates roughly every week, so you’ll see it improving continuously! :rocket:

Hey @leorigna,

Is there a changelog available anywhere to see what is fixed, new, etc? If not - perhaps consider more detailed post?

Kind Regards,

My Rivo+ ist updated to 4.208 - but I don’t know how I can select ā€œTest update channelā€.
Thanks in advance for any hint.

Rivo and Rivo plus are scheduled to receive Nova approximately next week

I don’t understand; I already have version 4.209 on my Volumio Rivo and Nova. However, I’ve already submitted a ā€œticketā€ because none of my USB ports are responding anymore. The DAC and hard drive are no longer being detected, even though there were no issues previously. I’ve already performed a factory reset, but there’s been no improvement.

Hi Michelangelo, I’ve noticed this.
But I was under the impression that the ā€œtest update channelā€ should already be available somewhere in the settings. So, it only arrives with the update to 4.209!?
Kind regards, Tim

I can’t wait for x86/x64!!!
