Innomaker DAC Pro WLAN crackles

Hi guys,
I have installed an Innomaker DAC Pro on my RPi4. Raspberry is connected to network with internal wlan. The big problem is that there a noises and crackles when i listen to music. I tested with LAN connection and everything works fine. But LAN connection is no option. The cable must go through many rooms.
Do you think i can save the problem when i turn off internal wlan and use a wlan dongle?
Greetings Daniel

Hi. I think your issue might be elsewhere - I’m running the same card on a RPi4b on a wireless network without any problems. What do you mean by “crackles” and in what scenarios, from what source (music stored locally on the Pi’s SD card, external drive, streaming, etc.)?

Hi. The noises are everytime. My music is stored on an ssd also i stream with Tidal. It sounds like an old radio when you search for a channel. You know what i mean? My english is not very good.

Maybe the reason is that the pi and the dac are in a mini atx aluminium case. A plastic case could be better?

The case shouldn’t interfere with the DAC, but to be sure, have you tested it without the case to make sure; or a different set of cables/interconnects? Are you using the Innomaker Dac Pro or Allo Katana drivers from the list?

I will try it without the case later. I use the innomaker dac driver.

Great. I’m tagging @innomaker here so they may help as well. They’re active in the forum.

Nice

Problem solved.
The problem is the aluminium case. I took the pi and the dac out of it and every noises and crackles are gone.

So next step is to print a plastic case with 3D-printer.
Thank you very much.

@TubularBells:

Are you using headphone with this dac? It would nice to now if the headphone out is strong enough to drive some Hifiman Sundura closed back.

Very interesting regarding the case - mine is, in fact, plastic. 3D printed and attached to an official RPi 7" screen case for touch display. What aluminum case were you using?

As for headphones: I’m using the balanced outs to a class D amp. I’ve tried the regular headphone out with Hifiman HE400se’s without issues. They are 32 Ohm planar like the Sundaras, with closed backs at 20 Ohm. But it all depends on your expectations, though.
