hello , thank you very much,
test this just now;
could however just function over hdmi?
when selecting playback output “sun50i-a64-audio” there is no sound over headphone jack when connected to loudspeaker;
there is however sound over hdmi; and when then changed again to “sun50i-a64-audio” the sound would be less “digital” but still play over hdmi-connected monitor;
do i need additional equipment or is the pine a64+ here possibly defective on the headpone-audio-port?
If I understand correctly, you want the interface on a screen via HDMI and the sound through headphones, is that right?
no, the output via headphone-out, the screen is not needed; i mean, the hdmi is useful, but i tend to use the pc-loudspeaker.
thanks!
I haven’t tested it via the jack yet; I’ll test that tomorrow. It’s currently 8:37 PM in France. Otherwise, there are other, higher-quality options, like a USB or i2s DAC (that’s in progress).
thank you so much,
was already investigating DAC for this SBC, but it seem the model that was developed no longer easily availble;
however, the unit here Pine A64+ has small defect that maybe could be bettered, since the 2x20 pins “Pi2” GPIO Header is bent on several teeth;
a DAC (preferably not over USB) would be nice;
but for my momentary setup headphone out would be sufficient ().
Bonne Nuit;
Progress
Jack output correction is now working.
i2s ES9023 and Hifiberry DAC Plus (PCM5122) are available.
hello , have only little experience with volumio,
but maybe you wanna hear feedback nvtls.
image for rock64 as comparision > volume is bit low on this image with headphone out for pine a64; need to tweak loudspeaker 1-2 times the volume;
not ideal, but sound is now heard; thank you very much;
maybe can buy later second pine a64 board for hifiberry; is the i2s difficult to install (wires?)
I am surprised by the sound quality of the jack output of pin a64+, it’s really not bad.
As soon as I have a moment, I’ll post a photo of the pinout for the i2s connection.
thank you very much, this looks difficult;
fortunately, the bent teeth here are not used for this ~
do the wires need be soldered or how can this be done?
probably the rock64 sound much powerful due to fact that it has another power delivery, and the pine a64+ just use the micro-usb?
was using it (pine a64+) for libreelec previously for short time and noticed that on hdmi the pine a64 sounded very good imo; so was think it could be ideal candidate for volumio; probably it needs just a dac board as yusuggested; the hifiberry seem easy to install; but as said, here are quite some teeth bent; is it also installable on euler or does it need gpio?
looking forward, mercĂ beaucoup.
Pine a64+ euler ------------------ Dac PI
5v pin 8 --------------------------- 5v pin 2 or 4
GND pin 6 ----------------------- GND pin 6
BCK pin 13---------------------- BCK pin 12
DATA pin 15 -------------------- DATA pin 40
LRCK pin 12 ------------------- LRCK pin 35
It’s quite simple (it may need 3.3v depending on the DAC you’re using).
For DACs like the PCM 5122, also add this
SDA pin 3 ---------------------- SDA pin 3
SCL pin 5 ---------------------- SCL pin 5
