Added Volumio to a Rpi 4b and got the touchscreen/program working (yay!), but it’s upside down, which I see is a common problem. I enabled SSH and using Putty, I added:
display_lcd_rotate=2 via sudo nano /boot/config.txt then: ctrl-x, saved etc. (as described in several searches) and rebooted
but still upside down? I’m sure I’ve left out a step…took me two hours just to get this far
Please…
Don’t manually edit the /boot/config.txt. Read the first 2 lines, it’s not there to fill the file.
### DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE ###
### APPLY CUSTOM PARAMETERS TO userconfig.txt ###
There are 2 plugins to do the hard labor for you: Setup a display: Plugins => System Hardware => Pi Screen Setup Add Volumio kiosk: Plugins => User Interface => Touch Display
Please reflash your SD, to avoid all manual changes keep causing troubles
Install “Pi Screen Setup” first and configure your screen, including the correct rotation
Restart
Install “Touch Display”. Most likely nothing else is needed for your screen rotation
Since I am brand new to this RPi environment (and thus Volumio), is there a good “START HERE” site? It seems that all I can find on searches are hit-and-miss suggestions on how to do things. I have not seen anything like your answer to this issue and would like to learn more.
I can only recommend one thing: start reading the forum topics.
Installing Volumio as an OS is basically a DIY project, so expect a bit of tinkering along the way. The official starting point is here:
After that… welcome to the rabbit hole.
12 different Raspberry Pi boards
800+ possible x86 devices
120+ audio HATs
And an endless selection of USB DACs
Topped by many many different screens (DPI. DSI, HDMI,…)
At that point, a single “one-size-fits-all” (400k possible combinations) tutorial? Yeah… not happening
The good news: the community forum (which you already found) is packed with thousands of enthusiasts who’ve been down the same rabbit hole—and are usually more than happy to help you navigate it.
Another rabbit hole…just what I needed I wish I had found this place before jumping in! Very happy to be here and looking forward to the journey…Thank you again for the help and the kind welcome!
