Greetings, I am designing my own I2S DAC for RPi, and plan to use Volumio as front end… The DAC hardware will not require any configuration to minimize software development.
How do I configure Volumio to just output I2S at the bit rate and resolution of the audio file being played?
Do I need to select a particular DAC card?

Just select “Generic I2S DAC”, it will make RPi act as I2S master and output data stream even without any DAC attached. Be aware that volumio stops generating any clock on I2S 5 seconds after playback is ended or paused. Also RPi has no master clock out.
New install of v4 of Volumio on Pi 3 model B, but did not select DAC at that time. How do I go back and select my dac(Hifi Berry Dac II). and trying to enable my Raspberry PI 7in touch display – Thanks Greg
