I messed up IP address. Now I cannot get into it

I changed the IP from DHCP to static IP and something was not right, and I cannot get to the web page anymore. I cannot SSH because of the wrong IP, so I plugged HDMI and a keyboard to log into Raspberry PI directly.

The problem is that I cannot log in. I tried volmio / volmio. I tried a few combinations but no success. What could it be? Most likely I installed it from the image initially, and I might have set my own ID and password. Maybe not. I don’t remember anything like that in the Setting page on the web page.

Mine is Volumio 2, and I hate to factory reset because of songs on the SD cards. I would lose them all. Please help.

Volumio 2 is no longer supported neither is changing the default Volumio credentials.
On thing left is starting from scratch.

Hi

you should try to access your router (192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1), it will list your dhcp allocation and give you the new volumio IP

Are you using Ethernet or WiFi? If wired I believe if you unplug it and Volumio doesn’t detect a network it will fall back to the hotspot?

Yes, it is ethernet cable, so I tried! Volmio wifi did not kick in… Thank you, though.

I changed from DHCP to static IP.

you still have the ip listed in your router webinterface… if you don’t mess with numbers…

The default username and password for the teminal is volumio / volumio you are missing the letter u

Assuming you are using the default volumio name you can also try connecting with http://volumio.local

You say you altered to static IP what address did you give it. It wasnt too widly different to its dhcp assigned address was it and not the same as any other device on your network.

You are absolutely right! It was without “u.”
Now, what was so silly was that it started to work after rebooting it. I assumed that when I changed the IP allocation method through the GUI, it rebooted itself. It did not. After I got into Volumio itself directly with the correct username and PW, it became accessible with the IP that I gave…

Anyway, thank you so much!
