i run the updater… it has been doing this for a couple of years now… always says its up to date but its not and i have internet as a i stream the radio… i did ssh into volumio
i can ping and i run
volumio updater forceupdate
but says up to date… i have always had this problem… is there something i need to change for it to update properly? i also currently run it as a VM under unraid… but i find it can never find any updates… so i usually have to re do the whole setup every 6 months… as it cant update normally…
anything i can do to fix it so it can always update properly?
what you mean what do i expect? i guess for 2.916 to upgrade to 3.324 so when i run upgrade it doesnt upgrade to the 3.324
ive never had any luck with the upgrade… none of the 2.x has ever worked for me so i just wondering if maybe i need to configure something… like i think prior to 2.9 it was like 2.6 and 2.6 couldnt upgrade to 2.9 so i had to re download a new image file… so just wondering if maybe i need to configure something in my network for updates to work instead of me always having to redownload a new .IMG file and then reset things up
Correct, for the x86 platform it is not possible to upgrade a version 2 to version 3, for technical reasons.
You need to flash a new image, after that you should be able to use the OTA update again for future v3 versions.
ok re installed it and stuff… it be nice i dunno if Volumio has it or not… but like a config file… so you have your playlists your settings… it be nice if you could just import it and like your audio be back in same spots… like a Home Assistant… you load the file and it re sets it up even like a PFsense box
but thank you… in past i always had issues updating running in a VM so i always had to re download a new image… the only thing that ever downloaded was the plugins… but updates have always been saying its up to date… but cant complain too much… i not able to write such a great program… so i wont complain too much having to re set up things… cuz ppl would say go write it yourself lol
