Hello from Torino (Turin, Italy)

Hi all,

long-time user of Volumio here — although I have never posted on the forum until today.

I am Alberto, I am a software engineer based in Torino (Turin, Italy) but I am originally from Venezia (Venice, Italy).

I like listening to good music on hardware, especially if it can be piloted by good software — hence, Volumio.

I use an RME ADI 2/4 Pro SE as my main desktop DAC, which is connected to an ancient Onkyo integrated stereo system. However these days I mostly listen to music with headphones, using the RME as DAC+headphone amplifier. I own several models of headphones (Focal, Beyerdynamic and HiFiMan).

I have a couple of other DACs, integrated/portable/desktop ones which I rotate through the various Volumio hosts I have disseminated throughout my house. Speaking of which, I have installed Volumio on a bunch of different systems: Raspberry PIs (Zero 2, 3B+, 4B+, 5, even a 400 keyboard!), an ancient Mac Mini, a Lenovo X120e laptop.

In my spare time, apart from listening to music, I like reading, hiking, and I try to maintain some FLOSS projects — feel free to visit my personal Web site if you want to learn more about them.

I recently published on GitHub and PyPI volumito, a Python client library and CLI tool for Volumio.
(I have just created a dedicated discussion in the Developer’s Corner section of this forum.)
