[Guide] Prepare Raspberry Pi for boot from USB/NVMe

Thanks, dear @nerd ,
checked your last post in “Prepare Raspberry Pi for boot from USB” but cannot identify how to identify the chipset.
Currently this is a Sandisk USB Stick - so Bus 2, device 2, I guess…

volumio@volumio:~$ lsusb
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0781:5588 SanDisk Corp.
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 1997:2433
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 2109:3431 VIA Labs, Inc. Hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

You wrote in your posting:

Find the device ID with:
lsusb
Add the quirk to /boot/cmdline.txt:
usb-storage.quirks=152d:0578:u

I cannot identify where I have to place the device ID in the quirk … ???

Additional question: Volumio Install doesn’t have/know rpi-eeprom-update.
So I have to boot the Pi with an other SD card, right?
And rpi-eeprom-update writes in the hardware which persists - even if I change back to volumio boot?

Do you have an idea why touch functionality disappears in my SD card installation?

Warmest regards,
Ralf
