Hello, is there a limit to the number of tracks in a folder? My MinimSever index shows a folder with 5,693 items but you can only browse down to “Crossroads” so the rest of the songs all the way to z are not accessible. Another folder has 1,421 albums but you can only browse down to “Sixteen Stone”. All the other folders seem fine and all the songs in the library are accessible by artist, etc. I can see all the items in all the folders in other apps like Linn Kazoo but not in Volumio. Any ideas?
No, there are not limits on tracks, but perhaps mpd is having problems with some tracks (symbols in file names, corrupted files …) when it tries to index your files. Is the correct number of tracks shown in the Volumio UI after indexing?
Yes, it shows the correct number in My Music in settings. I wouldn’t think it’s related to problems with particular tracks since it’s fine from A to C but nothing from D to Z and nothing from S to Z in albums. I’m guessing it relates somehow to the number of files.
I have the same problem with my music library (around 12K songs).
The all songs are indexed but Volumio don’t display totally the folders and stop to A…
I have a similar problem; I used Volumio on a RPi3 just for one month, at the begining I used just a 8GB USB key and it works perfectly.
After that I buy a SSD disk USB (256 GB) to put all my songs on it ( 18K tracks ). Now, it’s very difficult to start volumio server; I think that MPD has some difficult to build its data base. When it finish indexed all songs, it works but when I reboot the problem comes back. I tried to modify the MPD configuration (/etc/mpd.conf) to disable “auto-update” capability, the problem is the same.
Is it possible to stop the auto-update ? because I prefer to activate myself the update data base, when I put new songs in my SSD disk.
