Hi,
Installed volumio version 3.251 from scratch and this happened to me:
- Using analog outputs;
- No audio resampling
- Filter: Fast roll-off
- IIR Filter select: 47KHz
1-DSD Files played well
2-DSD auto volume level turned on → starts making the noise
3-DSD auto volume level turned off → Continues making the noise
4-Audio Resampling ON → stops making noise
5-Audio Resampling ON → restarting with Noise
6-Factory reset and same initial conditions → NO DSD noise.
Repeating steps 2 to 5 and the same… Only stops noise with audio resampling or factory reset.
Have no plugins installed.
Any ideas / help?
BR,
Paulo Nunes
It’s been a long time since you posted this, and there has been no response. I’m encountering similar issues. I receive a blast of noise near the end of a song, and then it skips to the next song. This didn’t start happening until I switched to a Schitt Modius. I had zero issues with Dragonfly Red DAC. What DAC are you using?
I don’t remember in which version but I stopped having this.
Also it had to do with peppymeter running (too much cpu on my volumio primo).
Also while indexing local music library it consumes lots of cpu and sampling freq > 44.1 and DSD suffer a little during that.
I had that behavior using internal volumio DAC.
I have PeppyMeter running as well. I’ll tone it down and see if that improves.
The Music Services Shield plugin resolved my issue entirely. I’ve been playing the rest of the week and have not encountered end-of-song noise or random noise/skip track. AND with PeppyMeter sensitivity set at 2. (to try to make it fail)
