Sharing that I have DSD Direct play back working out of the box with Pi-5 2gb and SMSL SU-1 (V3.795).
I have read that some folks are having DSD issues.
Didn’t need to use the DSD over PCM (DoP) playback mode, which I thought I might.
Also installed Volumio via the Raspberry Pi network OS installer. The write took ages but worked perfectly.
I’m new to Volumio and Pi’s, so very happy!
Thru USB or an audio hat using i2s thru HDMI?

Have you tried FusionDSP? I don’t have an extensive DSD library and when running FusionDSP, it plays it thru PCM and I thought that in this configuration, it should be DSD over PCM which should show DOP on the DAC, but it does not show DOP on mine.
First I’m hearing about FusionDSP, would be keen to try it.
Started ready about Parametric EQ and DSD playback, and whoa that is way over my head!
You can’t equalized direct DSD. It’s just not possible.
You have to use DSD over PCM.
Parametric EQ is very powerful, but you need to use some other tools to define EQ.(Rew)
