My Musician Pegasus DAC (v.1) works great with Motivo via USB. But I get no sound via HDMI. The DAC shows the same resolution as the track playing on Motiov, so it’s connected, but there is no sound.
I’ve chosen PS Audio HDMI setting and rebooted. I’ve chosen all the different HDMI settings and saved, but no sound.
Anyone successfully used Motivo or Rivo+ with Musician dacs? Any solutions?
Pegasus v II has the ability to switch pin out, I don’t see that for the V1. They do have a diagram for the pin out in the manual, so maybe Volumio can help you with that.

Also Important to set the output device in the playback options to s/pdif +aes/ebu + i2s if it was on USB. Those are separate and won’t work simultaneously.
Many thanks. Is that the pins for v1, where did you find it? I could not find it at musician-audio.com.
But seems to not match, I think.
Yes. Thanks. Also I use a AQ cinnamon HDMI. Should work I hope.
I googled for the manual of the musician Pegasus version 1 manual. musician audio R2R DAC PEGASUS Discrete Balanced User Manual

Good news. It actually worked to hold the NOS button on my beloved Musician Pegasus and press it to change I2S figuration. Rumour said it was only possible on Pegasus II not V1.
Google Gemeni 2.5 Deep research helped by saying the Loxjie I2S setting on motivo would be most compatible and then the NOS button trick worked. Hallelujah. Hope other Musician+Motivo or Rivo+ users find this.
Only problem is 4/8 settings on Pegasus produce sound. But I heard scraping noise on one playing 24/192 (Time), so probably not all are perfect match. And which one is perfect is still a mystery I hope Gemeni will solve in a minute.

Like Denafrips, Musician seems to be a bit scarce with information in their operating manuals. My Pontus didn’t even come with a paper manual.
