i am seriously considering making a raspberry pi with volumio os…
but…
i would like to see “now playing” or playlists in my tv
i also have a denon avr-receiver x1700H but i don’t like the interface of HEOS on my tv
so connect pi to denon via toslink (i consider adding hat dac) or hdmi?
any help very welcome, i am new to this but would like volumio
I use HDMI to connect to a TV. Now playing works perfectly.
how should i connect from pi to av-reiver? via toslink (digital), then dac of receiver is used
and then hdmi between tv and receiver (so i can get visuals on my tv
is that the right way?
and if i would implement a dac in my pi, then i should connect analog to my receiver…?
When connecting only through hdmi, hdmi is digital, so the the dac of the receiver is used then?
What if i want to use the dac in the pi and export analog audio signal to my reiver and video through hdmi to my receiver?
That’s correct you go from HDMI to your TV, and also either Digital or Analog from your Pi to your Amplifier depending on how you configure your DAC. But yes, two separate cables.
