DAC / S/pdif Raspberry

Hello
I have the following Dac card Saber ES9038Q2M
which is from Audiophonics, wondering if anyone here knows how to do it or what is needed to be able to run S/pdif from the dac card?

Install from the plugins:
Audiophonics Evo Sabre

Coincidentally, I recently made such an audiophonics dac hat for someone.

If you only have the DAC card, you can only select SPDIF via a small OLED screen with a rotary encoder.
another way is via ssh (alsamixer) and select the sound card and activate spdif.
I then used this i2s output.

and this dac hat.

I also took a few pictures at the time.

normal i2s

encoder push (spdif)

Thanks for reply
but do I need any S/pdif card for the following dac card ES9038Q2M, or how else do I connect a s/pdif signal

is SPDIF in, so connect a CD or other device with a coax out signal and then switch to SPDIF and you will then get sound via the Ess Sabre DAC left and right stereo output.

Thanks for all the help
It was a lot easier than I thought
thought I almost had to buy a S/pdif hat

Let us know if it works so that others can benefit from it too.

Is that a Marantz CD player you repurposed for the case?

For some reason lately I am very intrigued about the idea of repurposing vintage anything into a case for a Volumio streamer

Yes.

And this One in an old NAD tuner.

Sweet! Did you manage to reuse any of the physical controls?

Yes: for the Proto Dac next/previous, pauze/Play, power off and on.
And the green button All system on/off.
The Marantz only power on and off…gpio 3
