I believe that I have the latest version of Volumio: 3.18.5+
I entered my Spotify Premium details on the system page and rebooted the PI
upon Volumio’s return the stream option is disabled and my settings are gone
Did I do something wrong ?
Do I need to install something else or use some other means to connect to my Spotify account ?

You just need to enter your credentials, save and reboot… Are you sure you got the right ones? I had lots of trouble because my Spotify account was linked to facebook. If this is the case for you, you have to go to the Facebook page and generate a password for Spotify to use it and your email to log in

Indeed I made sure to create a Spotify specific account rather than use an FB one
Since we are still in the testing phase, we created a free 30 day Spotify Premium account
Could this be the source of the problem ?

I don’t know but I don’t think so premium account is premium account. Maybe you could try and install the new Volumio 2.000 what they released yesterday
