I am trying to add my DB of music stored on my Cocktail X10 to my Volumio library. However every configurartion is rejected. The SMB address is smb://192.168.0.101/musicDB. I out the IP in the appropiate field with the path as musicDB. I get 22 invalid argument error. If I cant sort this I may give up on Volumio for something else. My network streamer sees the drive without issue.
- So what did you enter in the samba part of Volumio?
- Which Version of Volumio are you running and please don’t sya the latest
- I can’t find any information which SMB version is used by Cocktail, so try as option in Volumio:
- vers=1.0 or vers=2.0 or vers=3.0
version 3.629 not sure what you mean by samba part, please clarify.
I have tried all the options.
You should do something like this.
The option is just guessing as I don’t know what is supported by Cocktail.
Hi Thank you so much it seems editing it was not actaully making any changes when saved as it kept reverting back. Deleted it and re-entered as above and vers=1.0 worked for me.
Ah I have the server ticked but when i got to music servers its not giving me any albums, I left it scanning overnight but still nothing is showing.
Since you mapped the the folder that holds your music you navigate via:
“Music Library”, “Artist”, “Albums” or “Genres”
Or “media servers” if Cocktail act as DNLA Server, but in this case mapping the music folder doesn’t make much sense.
I also have a zen network drive connected and the albums there only appear in the music server section.Nothing in the Library. I have a USB drive attached to my Volumio machine and the albums there also do not pull directly into the library . Cocktail does appear in Media servers but I cannot get any files to come up like the Zen.
Some flaky stuff going on , I went into Music Library and there was an option there for NAS which suddenly appeared and it did have the two servers listed. Clicking on one hangs the system and nothing happens so restarted the host machine which is a mini PC with 4gb of ram. It got as far as opening one of the drives so I could see content but then was frozen again. Looking via a browser the other drives are not listed in the Library. No idea what to do seems so close yet its not functioning.
First update to the latest stable version for the rpi V3.631.
There is an updated MPD version with this version, to deal with some issues.
Next I hope that some of the community members are familiar with the Cocktail X10, as for me this becomes a guessing game, as I don’t own this hardware.
Saying on my mini pc version this is uptodate.
Now lists the X10 albums but only 139 then stops and there are well over 1000.
Will leave it overnight .
please try to enable test mode, and update to the latest test version
when done, after the reboot please disable test mode and try again to scan
