Clarification: does the Lineo5 power button fully cuts power to the Rivo or only puts it in standby?

Hi all,

I have a question regarding using the Lineo5 together with the Rivo.

In the Lineo5 manual, the front power button is described simply as turning the power supply ON , but it’s not entirely clear how it behaves when powering a connected Rivo.

When using Lineo5 with a Rivo:

  • Does pressing the Lineo5 power button actually cut power completely to the Rivo (i.e., a full power-off)?
  • Or does the Rivo remain in some standby/sleep state?
  • Specifically, will the Rivo’s front LED turn off completely when using the Lineo5 power button?

I’d appreciate clarification from anyone who knows.

Thanks!

The Lineo5 is a linear power supply (LPS).
The power button on the front switches the LPS on or off.

The Rivo does not support standby when there is no power.
No power means no LEDs, no standby.

Before powering off the Lineo5, you must shut down the Rivo via the Web GUI. Once the Rivo has fully shut down, the Lineo5 can be safely turned off.

If you leave the Lineo5 powered on, the Rivo can remain/put in standby mode.
