Cannot resolve .local addresses to create network drive

I have my volumio access files via an nfs share on a server on the local network. Rather than give the server a static ip, I would prefer to have volumio find it via a .local hostname (similar to volumio.local)

Unfortunately, although the server is running avahi, and I can ssh to it from other machines, volumio seems not to be able to resolve the .local hostname. When I use getent to get the ip of .local addresses from the volumio command line, it seems to always resolve to 198.105.254.228

Interesting situation, because volumio itself responds to volumio.local

Does anyone know how this might get resolved?

I don’t know for certain but that’s possibly by design. You probably will get more answers to such a technical question by asking on the Github website github.com/volumio/Volumio2
