Changing player name doesn’t stay changed.
On one of my players it changes back to default as soon as I reload the page. On the other it stays till I restart the player.
I use a Raspberry Pi 3 and 2 respectively.
Also, it changes the first letter to a capital letter.
I had the same issue. I noticed that in the /etc/samba/smb.conf file, the netbios name is set to Volumio. Just comment out this line and reboot ot restart Samba.
Also, I noticed that following the name with jst a dot instead of dot-local works too. volumio_new.local
