Can shairport provide song informations?

Hi,

I plan to build a Pi with a Hifiberry or Wolfson audio card (not supported at the moment by Volumio - I hope for future). I will use it only for streaming via shairport (Airport).

Does anybody know if shairport can provide informations about the music, like the name of the song? If yes I´am thinking about a small display for my Pi.

Looks like they’re working on it, but the feature is still not comprised in the main version of shairport:
