Hardware: PRi 5 + nVMe SSD

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Set playback volume to 50% or less
  2. Play a track - playback is low level and distorted
  3. Increase volume to 80 or 90 % - normal playback usually kicks in OK

Additional Information

Setting Default Starup Volume to 85 seems to fix the problem

I have a rPi5 running a E30 II without any problems.

  • How do you power the rpi5 and E30II? As it sounds like there is a lot of noise in your system.

External 5V 4A Meanwell ‘brick’ PSU.
No, noise is not a problem - system is very clean.
I only got this problem after 3.832 update.
It sounds more like a mixer problem - gets very spitty and distorted below 50% volume but is 100% OK at higher volume levels.
