I have been wondering if it might be possible to use a PCIe USB card with Volumio, like the Pink Faun, SoTM or JCAT cards which offer lower noise & reclocked USB audio out. The Waveshare compute module 4 seems like a possible way to use a PCIe card with a RPI, but would it actually work?
A setup could look something like this:
- Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4
- Waveshare Compute Module 4 IO Board, to gain a PCIe slot
- Pink Faun, SoTM or JCAT PCIe USB card for reclocked USB audio out
Did anyone go down this rabbit hole?
