Hi all.
I know that the subject of album art has been covered many times but I have a specific question which I have not found the answer to.
I have added the correct album art to each of my album folders and called the file folder.jpg. I have set the size of these images at 300x300 pixels and they work fine. However, in album folders where tracks contain embedded artwork then these tend to be used instead of my album art. Often, (and always with my compilation albums) this results in the wrong artwork showing and mostly the are not the correct size.
I know that I can go through each album using MP3 Tag and find and remove embedded artwork that way, but I have over 2 thousand albums and this would take a while.
Is there a way of turning off embedded album art in the same way as turning off web album art?
Many thanks
Mike
Ciao,
I wrote some Python scripts to “clean” all my files (AIF)
I have one to remove embedded covert art from the AIF but it is easy to modify it to work with MP3.
Basically, it reads all the file from my NAS, test if a picture is present, if yes, removes it and save in the file folder as folder.jpg if it doesn’t exist.
I don’t know if you have some Python knowledge but it is easy to modify it to meet your needs and match with your system : PC or Mac, USB or NAS…
It assumes that you use the following files organization :
Root folder
|
|—Artist 1
| |- Album 1
| |- Album 2
| |- Album x…
|—Artist 2
| |-Album 1
Etc…
Have a nice day
Pascal
PS : Je vois que tu es en France. Je suis sur Paris/RP.
Hi Awazleon.
Sorry for the delay in answering. I live in the Herault dept.34 and have been busy helping with the work required after the huge flooding that our region has experienced. A lot of it was very close to us but we live in a hilltop and so our home was safe.
You solution to the album art problem is interesting. However I have already cleaned, sorted and re-tagged my entire collection several times. I now have no embeded art at all and each album has a folder.jpg file containing the correct album art. my folder arangement is in the correct order also.
When I look at the music library and view it as tiles view every album is shown with the correct artwork. When I am playing music the correct album art appears as it should and the playlist also shows the correct icon.
It is only when I look at the albums view that everything is wrong. Some albums show as blank black, some are divided and some show incorrect icons.
I think that I will not use album view.
Many thanks

Salut,
