Hello,
My setup: Raspberry Pi 3B+,VOLUMIO 4.119;
PC ASUS W11 home
I cannot access to VOLUMIO internal storage from Windows File Explorer of W11.
The problem: SMB seems to be using SMB1 / not compatible with Windows 11.
I have tested: SSH / SFTP OK; no smbd is present.
My question is simple: Will VOLUMIO’s current Samba 1 be upgraded to Samba 3 with username and password authentication to allow access to VOLUMIO’s internal storage from Windows 11?
If you don’t fill in the options when setting up the mount for SMB, Volumio automatically uses V3.1.1.
So answer, yes it’s upgraded to Samba 3 for a long time.
But with Windows 11 there is another issue related to KB that has been pushed.
Hello,
Thank you for your quick and precise reply.
I’m not a computer expert, but I understand the problem stems from a Windows 11 KB update.
If VOLUMIO uses SMB 3.1.1 sharing, how can I access VOLUMIO’s internal storage without compromising Windows 11 security?
I’ve already tried WinSCP to access my VOLUMIO’s contents via SSH, but it’s not as convenient as Windows File Explorer.
Hello,
how do I add a username and password to the Volumio SMB 3.1.1 share so that Windows 11 can connect to Volumio,
since Windows 11 doesn’t connect to anonymous shares?
Hi the comunity,
Does anyone have any idea how to add SMB share settings with a username and password from the VOLUMIO graphical interface?
I asked CHAT GPT, but the commands he told me to enter destroyed my configuration, and I had to reinstall VOLUMIO from scratch.
