Hello everyone,
I created my personal Volumio streamer using a Raspberry PI5, an Innomaker HAT DAC, a 7" TouchScreen and a NOBSOUND NS-01G amplifier.
Everything is fine and, on the workbench it seems to work very well.
But, when I place it in the listening point and connect the speakers, suddenly the touch screen responds badly, slowly and everything seems to freeze. What could it be? I’ve thought about unshielded cables… but before taking action I’d prefer some advice from the more experienced.
Thank you very much.
Hey @Sulfurman,
Please check if you are not creating an induction loop with coiled cabling. Another place to check will be an electrical common ground.
Kind Regards,
Hi @nerd ,
thank you very much!
I think you’re right.
Because I have several coiled cables (the power cables, the signal cables and also the ethernet ) inside the cabinet.
The really strange thing is that, without touching anything inside, everything works perfectly on the workbench in another room.
I’ll do some experiments.
Kind Regards.
YES!!!
It was the power cord.
On the shelves where I placed the device, behind the books, I used a power cable without ground connection!
After a thousand attempts… I checked that cable…and now everything is perfect!
Thank you again @nerd .
Kind Regards.
“What do you know?” - physics
You are not the first one tripping over power chains. It is surprising that you did not have evidence of the ground loop. It implies that your isolators are doing job.
Kind Regards,
