Lifelong (61 yrs) lover of music, electronics, engineering, joinery, tailoring, computer programming, automotive restoration and just learning new things like how to fully restore a “survivor” truly grand piano now converted to a player.

Living in small town in a rural area I’ve never had both the time and money to appreciate much in the way of properly presented live music to instead build (Heathkit Pro Series) or buy the best audio equipment (often lightly used) that I could possibly afford as well as media, media, media because what’s the use of a good “stereo” without lots of selection?

Plenty of world travel where I let my ears lead me to the place to enjoy my evening time…invariably live music and moreover the best live music in town. (my opinion of course)

My play piano built for Mary Martin in 1945 with its Pianoforce Performer player and elaborate accompaniment system has bridged the gap. I have LIVE music throughout a sprawling ranch home with the piano on the lower level. The piano is extraordinarily expressive (soft-to-loud) and never “bangs” like an old pneumatic players converted to “automatic” play via a vacuum motor. I also have one of those in the same very large space as the player grand and am working to truly restore both the player and the piano despite the near futility
