Hi ,
I am trying to connect to Wi-Fi but without success
I removed the Ethernet cable , connected to Volumio via hotspot then chose the hotspot , enter the password , network is restarted ,.
Now with a scanner I am trying to see the io address assigned to Volumio but I can not find it .
Also I have checked in the router page and also there is not available
Thanks
If you reconnect the ethernet cable, configure WiFi, the WiFi ip is visible in the network screen.
You running on a rPi or x86?
The problem is that my router is broken and I can not connect anymore to Ethernet . I am able to connect only to provider router hotspot …
I used to had a personal router connected to provider ont but now my personal router is defective … and the ont cand accept only wireless connection … . It has also one lan port witch support a pppoe connection .
Thanks
Wel then indeed connect via the Volumio hotspot, configure your WiFi settings. After the WiFi restart you still should be able to connect to the Volumio hotspot and validate the Wifi settings.
The fact that you can’t locate Volumio, seems you did not correct configure the WiFi.
It got connected somehow .
Thanks
What do you mean by validate ?
Go to the network settings in Volumio and you can see (validate) the settings. But since you reported it’s connected now. No need to do so.
I have only save button …
Ok . Thanks
What router do you have ?
I have 5.5 mbps
I am planning to buy a new one . I had an assus rt n56 with Merlin 3rd party software
All main Volumio devices are connected by cable to a:
Linksys EA7500 Max-Stream™ AC1900 MU-MIMO Gigabit WiFi Router. Which is placed in bridge mode.
And all dev/test boxes via a Netgear ProSafe Plus GS108PE and above mentioned router.
Only use WL for testing purposes.
Thanks for info
Now after a pause I can not acces Volumio via Wi-Fi … neither I can see Volumio hotspot …
Strange .
Tomorrow I will buy a new router
