What particular DAC HAT is "R-PI DAC" in the I2S DAC selection list?

I have googled for the name “R-PI DAC” but it doesn’t came up with anything else alternative, than the Raspberry DAC + or Pro, from what I guess is not the one in the subject. So it makes a bit of confusion.

Could someone clarify and give a link to this particular DAC?

Thanks!

rpi stands for raspberry pi en dac voor dac … and what dac not a clue

it is a generic I2S driver, it will work with any DAC that do not require settings via I2C interface.

Thanks, so it’s definitely not for the Rpi DAC+ or Pro, right?

No.

The RPi DAC+ and DAC Pro were originally IQAudIO products. The Raspberry Pi Foundation bought out IQAudIO and renamed the products, and change the PCBs from black to green.

Yes, I know these, even I own one and use it with ni-probs with the IQAdudio DAC+ setting. But till the last time I have checked the 2IS list in Volumio I didn’t realize that there’s this 'R-PI DAC" option, so it made me confused what it supposed to serve and as it’s naming resonates to the new Raspberry DAC’s appellation, and that’s why I have asked regarding in the first place

the “R-PI DAC” name is way older than the rebranding made by Raspberry Pi foundation.
