There is a new beta version out, this will bring volumio functionality up to the current level.
See opening post.
2020-12-11, version 2.857
http://updates.volumio.org/x86/volumiobuster/2.857/volumiobuster-2.857-2020-12-11-x86.img.zip
Over the next couple of weeks we are going to push the buster ports for arm (rPI) and x86 (x86-amd64) in parallel.
We hope to get most of it done by the start of the new year (finally).
Thanks very much ! gkkpch. Iāprobe the last version x 86 (version 2857) in my netbook Samsung NC210, but still the same problem : not web ui in the netbook , but i can acces to volumio from another PC or smartphone without problem. only show:
Yes, there appears to be a graphics device issue which others have reported.
There is not much I can do at the moment, except asking for more details using the info in the opening post of this thread.
There is no promise to solve this, we are aware that there are soooooo many different x86 configurations out there, it is very difficult to cover them all with the resources we have.
Weāre not Debian or Ubuntu, just a very small number of developers
But, as you have access, could you produce a log from the http://your-ip/dev page?
That would also help.
Note for me: Samsung NC210 has Intel GMA 3150
live log doesnāt help.
please use the log function from the dev page, it will return a url which i can use to look at the complete log starting with boot.
That helped, it seems the X system (needed for displaying the UI) fails to start.
I need to investigate, this will take a while though.
Depends on guesswork because I do not have such hardware.
Thank you very very much!!
Just commenting that the standard volumio x86 version 2853 boot ok on this hardware, show correctly web UI at startup, but obviously dont recognize very well the Dac Topping D50s (DSD work fine only in dop , not DSD direct. (https://volumio.org/get-started/)
good to know, perhaps there is a graphics component or some firmware missing.
Problem with D50 is a known one, like a few other usb dacs.
Canāt be solved as it would need a kernel update and I canāt do that, kernel is too old.
Best Regards gkkpch, Thank you very much
Hi gkkpch . i have a question : thereÅ any way to add or incorporate the Spotify complement in the last version or any other of Volumio debian buster x86 , I Know that your work exclude de plug-ins but , in this moment .i have the two versions: the official with very old kernel , not functionality DSD for mi dac and stil work with Spotify , and the last one Debian Buster with all functionalities but without Spotify plug -in.
Thank you very much
Mario
Yes, that is an open issue for the pre-release.
Working on it, will let you know when ready.
I installed the 2.857 on my Minix Z64. Its working fine and connected via eth0. I only found these issues so far.
