Volumio no start up after Shutdown:PowerOff

Dear HelpForum,

I’m complete newb to RPI and Volumio. Brand-new build:

  • RPI 3 B+
  • HiFiBerry DAC+ Pro
  • Volumio v2.452 <= Volumio image flashed to mSD with Win32DiskImager
  • generic 5v/3A power supply with on/off switch <= build quality seems decent - not crappy/weak/cheap like so many
  • Samsung Evo 32GB mSD

Built the box, no issues, and first startup and Volumio config worked great: wired ethernet connection, SMB/cifs mount from Win7-64Pro server. Booted up fine and first streaming/playback session worked great. Connected to Volumio as renderer from BubbleUPnP on Android, that worked fine too. Installed Spotify plugin but didn’t test it.

When done with playback went to Settings:Shutdown in Volumio web client, selected Power Off. RPI 3 B+ powered down as expected. Toggled on/off switch on power supply cord, all lights went off on RPI 3 B+ and DAC+Pro.

Next morning toggled on/off switch ot RPI 3 B+, and all lights went on - except for green light to left of RPI board’s red power light. RJ45 connector light on & flickering (presumably low-level/hw action in RPI network stack?), green light on DAC+Pro board was on … but still no green light at edge of RPI board. Of course, no response from volumio/local.

Haven’t tried the standard troubleshoot protocol for this - still learning, don’t know the protocol yet. Haven’t tried ssh. Ethernet connection appears to be good.

Greatly appreciate any pointers - is this somewhat common issue given my repro steps above?

Thanks,
Peter

oh - I should have looked a little farther down in the this subforum: why-volumio-cannot-handle-reboot-even-after-all-these-years-t9563.html

While maybe not “common”, could this be a recurring stability/reliability issue with Volumio? Or some other recurring problem with some other component in a build like mine?
