I have been using Volumio for some time now…My experience has been nothing but frustration with the whole system and protocol. It has been designed as a Headless Unit, you shouldn’t have to plug a monitor in, and or have to access the hardware, in my case, I am using a Raspberry Pi 3 and seems to work now and then, always having signal dropped from WIFI constantly, some days worse then others… turn it off, and watch Youtube videos instead, less aggrivating…I am so pissed right now, I can’t even get my Raspberry Pi, to function and get the GUI up and running so I can control settings… very very annoying this software, I had better success with RUNE AUDIO then I have had with VOLUMIO crap.
That is indeed a bummer for you. As many, many others have a much more posititive experience with Volumio (like me), maybe checking a few things might be helpful.
First, try a different/stronger powersupply (at least 3A) as the Pi3 with a hat board can use quite some watts. When the powersuply cannot provide enough current, the behaviour can be very unpredictable.
Second, what is your setup? Try running Volumio on the Pi with nothing else (also no Hat board) attached. See if it runs stable.
Have you tried a different SD card as well? Some cards can be bad and give also very unstable behavior.
Hopefully you would give it a try as Volumio is worth it (at least for many of us) [emoji2]

Thank you for your reply Patrick. I have had this set up working with sound coming out of the speakers and the Equalizer Plugin working. Albeit, the system would be unstable and crash a lot… depends what time of day it is, at night time works terrific, during the day and peak periods seems to have more issues. So, I think it is my internet connection, regardless this set up works with the Power Adapter I am using with plugs into the Piano 2.1 DAC which powers the Raspberry Pi 3 everything works fine sound wise, but connectivity is another issue.
Having said that, I took everything apart, and put it back together again. This time, I can’t connect to the Raspberry Pi or Volumio at all I can’t get to the settings to be able to change anything that was version 2.232 from Last November 2017.
I format the MicroSD card again, I flash it with a fresh install of Volumio version 2.389 from March of this year 2018. I follow all of the instructions to the letter of the law. Power up the system, I actually heard the sound of the system booting up over the speakers, I thought, cool, it is working again. Go to configure the software for my Piano 2.1 DAC Kali Reclocker, just as it was before, I can see the Graphical User Interface on my Smart Phone, go to volumio.local and can see it on my PC, I’m thinking …terrific it is working. I go to play a song and all I hear is WHITE NOISE. I take everything apart again, put it back together, plug in ethernet cable, plug in power cable…boot up system, seems to work that way now…no issues, but when I go to play music from my USB or WEB Radio stations all I hear is White Noise… I try to mess around with some of the playback options , still WHITE NOISE…
I am not a happy camper.
Look at resampling and turn it on or off. Search the forum for other users that had white noise issues. Good luck and let us know.

That is a nice way to introduce yourself, gets all the attention of developers for sure (not).
If you would tone down a little, we might be able to help if you open a post in the help section.
Yes, you are correct. I will tone it down.
Volumio is working. Don’t ask me how. I started from scratch. Format MicroSD, new image file 2.389 reboot all my devices. I went to configure for the Piano 2.1 DAC… wouldn’t take it, tried several times turned I2s on and off a couple times, the the prompt for restart came up. After that, go back to see the DAC and now Allo Boss is the DAC.
More confused now, but was working had sound no white noise.
Added the Equalizer Plugin, Restarted it again went back to see what the DAC was now it said Allo Piano 2.1 Equalizer Plugin and I2S is off.
Everything is working, no crashes for almost 2 days sounds great.
Now I am a happy Camper, confused as heck, but a happy confused.
