Volumio 3 and Tinkerboard

Hello,

I’ve been trying to install Volumio onto a Tinkerboard, Rev. 1.2. I have tried two different versions with similar results. The versions are, 3.512-2023-06-25, and 3.179-2021-12-20.

The symptoms are; the screen will fill with linux commands, clear and fill with more commands as it is being installed. Sometimes between screen fills I’ll notice the Volumio logo quickly before the next screen full. I now have a black screen with a tiny x cursor, but no Volumio splash screen. I’ve tried different microSD cards, and different power supplies, but the behavior persists.

Are these symptoms others have experienced? Any information would be helpful. Thx.

i don’t have a Tinkerboard, but my best guess is that you need to install the “Touch Display” plugin.

Moot issue now. I switched to a RPi. More ubiquitous, and a much better, and well supported platform.

Still you need to install the plugin, to have Volumio on a connected screen.

I am running Volumio 3.546 currently on TBS and can confirm that you don’t need to install the “Touch Display” plugin in order to have display output through the HDMI port. I also running Peppy Meter as well.

Not if you’re using the WebUI.
